Making proposals easier to review
Drug development proposals involve a lot of information, from molecule details and target markets to supporting documents and expert feedback. The challenge was bringing everything into a clear workflow, so teams could submit proposals, review the details and follow each decision through to approval.
Bringing the workflow into one place
I designed a step-by-step flow for creating proposals, adding supporting documents and defining the approval path. Users could start manually or use an AI-assisted option to begin with a prompt. The interface then guided them through the information needed to submit a proposal.
How I worked
Defining the scope
I worked with stakeholders to understand their requirements, agree on priorities, and define the MVP.
Building the prototype
I mapped the flows in a clickable prototype and reviewed them with the product owner and future users.
Designing the interface
I developed the visual identity and style guide, then applied them to the detailed screens.
Preparing for development
I documented the screen behaviour in user stories and prepared the designs for developers and QA.
Reviewing the flows with users
I tested the early prototype with the product owner and future users to see how they understood the proposal process. Two issues stood out: too much manual input and terminology that wasn't clear enough. I used that feedback to refine the flow before moving into the detailed interface design.
Keeping the review process in one place
Reviewers needed access to the proposal details, supporting files, expert opinions and approval status without jumping between different tools. I brought these elements together in one view, making it easier to follow discussions and see where each proposal stood in the review process.
What I delivered
I delivered the interactive prototype, final UI designs, style guide and development documentation within the agreed timeline.
